I find myself always attempting to create my own medium or seek one very seldom used. I enjoy the challenge presented and delve into discovering solutions. I definitely found many ways not to perfect this new medium. I loosely label it an adult diorama. Pieces are layer upon themselves and some jet out at different angles, other sink back into the piece. This idea has been created almost entirely out of recycled materials (the one exception being the the background wood 'canvas')- from clemintine boxes found around the streets to plastic gift bag filler to a frame collecting dust in the attic.

I wanted to create a dynamic image that changes and morphs as you move from side to side. I find this very relevant to the way we move about and view cities. From one step to the other the city bends and peers out at you. Although the city is built very sturdy and geometric our eyes curve and transform it. The characters perched about are no different than the lamp posts, newspaper stands, and building. Most times they are as equally interesting.
